When you look back at photos, the ones that remind you of your favourite memories are usually the ones that you love the most. Photos are a visual reminder of a beautiful moment, they make you feel something.
I take photos in a way that I hope enables you to feel the freedom to just be you. I like to let things flow naturally, generally I focus on encouraging you and giving you the confidence to be yourself. I'm not going to ask you to pretend to do something or be someone you're not. What I do need from you is to trust me and my process, to show me a little bit of vulnerability and to connect deeply with your family while I am there. Because nothing translates into photos as well as genuine connection.
I'm a Mama of two young boys and I totally get the unpredictable, chaotic nature of having little kids - I'm deep in it myself! I'm not going to ask your kids to do anything they aren't comfortable with, and if that means they don't want to have their picture taken to start with, then that's ok!
We can take pictures wherever you are most comfortable. A home session can be intimate and raw, it's like a time capsule that will endure long after your kids are grown and you've moved to a new home. Equally, there is nothing I love more than sharing an adventure during a session together. It's the best way to take the pressure off, for the kids to run wild and to just have fun together, doing something you love.

What to expect

Get in touch with me and let me know what you’re looking for. We’ll start brainstorming locations and lock in a date. We can make a moodboard and talk about outfits and styling, if you would like.
I’ll send you my contract and invoice for a 30% deposit to confirm your booking.

A week before our shoot I’ll get in touch with information about our shoot and some ideas and prompts so you feel prepared and like you know what the plan is - I absolutely love when you have ideas too!
I’ll show up to our shoot ready to capture memories you will carry with you for the rest of your life. You might show up feeling a little awkward and unsure, I totally get it! All I ask is that you try and forget that we’re there to take photos and try to sink in to being present with your family. Don’t worry about their crinkled dresses or messy hair, or the way they won’t smile on cue. Just try and connect deeply and intimately with them, and the rest will come.

3.
It takes me about 3-4 weeks to edit your photos and I’ll then send them to you in an online gallery. They will all be available in both high resolution and websize.
From there you can download them, order prints or share them, and hopefully treasure them forever.

Normally shot at home over about an hour.

I work with you to decide on a location. These shoots are often more like a date than a traditional maternity shoot, capturing you having fun together with your growing bump.

Can be shot at home or on location. I work together with you to create a fun experience for your family. Pricing includes travel within half an hour of Christchurch.
